I'm an American. I was just wondering about something. Does the world hate the American people or is it just the media trying to get to American minds and being successful at it? Or does the world hate president Bush, and not the people? Sometimes when I turn on the news, I see images of angry mobs burning and stomping on U.S. flags. Is it us or that jack*** in office? Some people say that I should travel abroad and see for myself ,but I hear too many stories of American tourists getting questioned, insulted, and spat on. I know I sound paranoid, but just tell me if the stories are true and if the world hates the American public or do they hate Bush?

The world hates Americans. I currently live outside the US in a very beautiful EU country. I love it here, but it truly saddens me that I have to watch every move I make. The problem is not our media, but international media. They show what our president does, not what our people do. Most Americans cannot STAND our current administration, we do not agree with what is being done, but we are "lumped" in with a generalization about the US. It truly makes me sick. I don't want to leave where I'm at, because the fact that I am living here and not a tourist seems to give me some credit. I won't ever be able to go back to the states and blindly shut my eyes to how the rest of the world views us. It is not fair, but there's nothing to be done until the next elections. It's not like we can just eliminate the red states you know? If we could, then America would fit in nicely with the other EU countries. But it is those few who give us a bad name.
