Sounds like you are a fan of martial law, no thanks. We have a legal system for a reason. Noone should play judge, jury and executioner...unless you were an officer on scene and you had to take him down to stop the carnage.

Wow, I didn't know Republicans could see the future and real people's minds!
Some people don't think that the death penalty is a deterrent from committing murders. Also, some think it's cruel and unusual punishment, and that it's even too expensive. Now there's people arguing about whether or not they can feel it. In other words, this is not such a cut and dry issue that you can just spout about because you want revenge on people. It's best left to the state where people can decide for themselves! I thought Republicans wanted a smaller federal government?

I don't think he would have gotten off that easy. He gave plenty of signs that even tough he was a disturbed individual, that he was capable of cognizant thought and knew right from wrong. Don't worry, the douche is gone, and hopefully we will all be a bit more vigilant and a bit more responsible when we notice disturbing behavior and let the right people know about it to investigate - and, we don't know if he was actually taking his medication, he was a high risk patient, and was left unattended, some people have some explaining to do....

However, if he had received adequate mental health care earlier, the 33 people might not be dead. That is one of the lessons to draw from this horrible event.

1. you don't know what would have happened had the killer been captured alive.
2. death penalty is a state issue, not a federal issue.

The issue is gun control as this is a "shoot 'em up country" and the conservatives don't want to talk about, especially the lemon in the White House.

I don't think this event is in any way material to the debate. It is material to the gun control debate, however.
