Specific gravity will work well in finding the displacement as per weight. In the case of two spheres of identical dimensions you will have to use a scale. Since the material for the bowling ball is not given, I could replace the material with Lead in side the center and calculate an equal weight. Or greater, for that matter.

I would guess an iron ball. Reasoning that just because they are the same size does not mean they will weigh the same. As an example, take a plastic bag the same size of a bowling ball and fill this bag with grass or feather or cotton. It will not weigh the same as the bowling ball. But they are the same size.

density, density, density!
I don't really know anything about making an iron ball, but if it could be made with lots of air bubbles in it and at the same time you could make a bowling ball with no air in it (very dense). In theory the bowling ball could be heaver than the iron ball of the same size. In reality, iron would never have a lot of air bubbles in it.
P.S. did you ever hear the joke about: What weighs more, a pound of feathers or a pound of rocks?

It depends: composition of the bowling ball, densities of the bowling ball and iron ball, etc.

Not every bowling ball is made with the same materials; and
not every iron ball is completely filled with iron where hollows might exist.

That depends on the weight. All bowling balls are the same size - the only difference is the density.

That is obvious the iron ball would be.

Iron = very dense
Plastic = not very dense

Bowling balls are plastic.
