new doctor?

I'm sixteen and still go to a pediatrician.for god sakes, there's dinosaur wallpaper. I want to see a different doctor, but my family doesn't have just a plain doctor(non-specialized). what should i do?

I can't believe what the person above to you said-"Don't Listen to Your Parents". Try and sit down with your parents and ask the politely if you can see a general practioner instead of your pediatrician. I am sure they would understand because when you reach a certain age in your teenage years, you are ready to become a young adult aand that means picking a new doctor for you. Tell them politely " Hey mom and Dad, I was wondering since I am 16 years old, Can I switch to a new doctor such as a general practioner or to your parents doctor perheaps"? " I feel that I am ready to grow up now from being a little kid to a young adult".Hey i saw my pediatrician until I was 13 years old so I know how you feel about this. Role play with your parents alittle. I hope this works out for you.If Your parents don't have insurance, you have other options such as going to a walgreens because they have walkin clincs inside the drugs stores and they are serviced by a doctor and a nurse practioners. There are many options to go about this.

I think you need to suggest to your family that you feel the pediatrician is for kids and that you feel you need a Dr. for adults. Good luck.

Never mind your parents my dear,
you should be able to see another doctor.
When you see a new doctor they will want to get
your medical information and to get to know you.
