Thats just stupid,

According to the US Census, there are 22 million males between 18 and 28 years old.

I don't really see America with an Army of 28 million soldiers.

.

And according to current Selective Service Law,

If a draft was reinstated, 18 and 19 yr olds would not be drafted.

The draft would start with those who turn 20 years old during the year of the draft and then go to those turning 21 years old if there were not enough 20 year olds.

Since each age bracket from 18 to 28 has over 2 million males, averaging 2.25 million males.

They would hardly need to extend the draft outside of 20 year olds.

But then as we all know, facts aren't your stong point.

That depends...are you between 18 and 28 years old? If so, then sure, just to get you to shut your yap.

The draft will not be returning anytime soon. We have an all volunteer Army, and we are doing fine with the numbers Congress has authorized.

If we need more manpower in the Armed Forces? Ask Congress to raise the authorized troop level number. 700,000 Army soldiers should do nicely.

I am proud of these young men and women who are still joining knowing exactly what is going on and what is at stake. Their parents and families should be proud. I gladly lead such troopers every day, they inspire me to be better than I am.

Increase the troop manning authorization and I bet we'd fill the need too.

Not very, I tried to warn everyone that it had been Charlie Wrangle who had proposed reinstating the draft and we should not have elected them in '06 and given him a chairmanship. I can only hope that the Republicans would block any such second effort or Bush would veto it, as he promised to do when Wrangle proposed it the first time.

Ten years isn't a large deal once you're a particular age, yet in my opinion 18 isn't an fairly good age to finish that. i ought to attend till you're a minimum of 21 to bypass for someone with that a lot journey over you.

In case you didn't know there is still a draft,it's just another name,it's called the selective service and we all had to sign up for it when we turned 18,it would not be a problem to start it again, since they know everyones names.

I think it would be great, because then the "End the War" demonstrations would be bigger. All these kids who are going to get drafted are not going to want to go to Iraq, so they will damn well get off their butts and demonstrate. Protesting in the streets is what ended the war in Vietnam, and it can end this one too if we all stood up and said we were not going to take this BS anymore!

Including females? That would be awesome.

I'd also be pretty happy I'm turning 28 before it takes effect.
