Here is some interesting information.
In Murray, Utah, near Salt Lake City, is a KFC outlet, with a sign that states: " The World's First KFC." In this area they were called Harman's Kentucky Fried Chicken after the individual who owns (owned?) the franchise rights, but all the signs had the Colonel on them. During the 50's and early 60's they were mainly sit-down restaurants. The annual Days of 47 Parade on July 24 always seemed to have the Colonel in it and he was always a big hit with the spectators.

Yes it is actually. I would assume this was the location Colonel Sanders first tried out his fried chicken and introduced it to the public. Then afterwards, he just remianed at the location in Corbin.
Don't quote me on it, but I have heard that the Original Original KFC is in Utah.

The original restaurant was called "Sanders Court and Cafe," and was located in Corbin, KY and opened in 1930. Harland Sanders later franchised the business, and the first franchise was opened in Salt Lake City, UT in 1952.
