Especially one with little political experience.

The Big deal was made by liberals not conservatives. We could care less and just liked the game for what it was. You earned the right to play there. You played there, what's the mystery? The vast majority of Republicans would love for a true conservative black man to run for president. You earn the right to run, you run, you win. What's the big deal? Oh, he's black, SO WHAT? He's conservative. That's what counts. Bill Clinton had the lily white cabinet. Not Bush. Seems like blacks have a much better chance of making the big time as Republicans than as Democrats. Do you see Hillary stepping down in order to support her fellow black Democrat??

It isn't that America is not ready. A black person hasn't really put in a bid for presidency. (except for Rev. Jesse Jackson, but he bidded out) Osama doesn't not have what it takes to be president none what so ever. Like political skills. Also, as far as why we haven't had a president that is black, I heard that it was because blacks are afraid to be presidents because of the fear of being assasinated. Sad isn't it?

I hate when people mention anything about the candidates being the first woman or the first black or the first Mormon who would be president. It puts an impression in people's mind. I don't want a black president to win if he wins on the basis of him being black. Same goes for a woman or anything else. If the person is qualified, what else matters?

The reason it was a big deal is that there are a large number of black players, yet they don't make it up the ranks.
The states are getting there. We will never be fully ready, but why not try.

Few would admit to voting on that basis but Obama would lose enough votes to fail in any presidential bid.
Edit:
Oh and btw, you've put Osama - I think I can say for certain that America is not ready to vote for Osama as president.

I completely support Barack Obama. He is very intelligent and I agree with his stance on many issues. Since most of the people that vote are older and educated, I think he has a damn good chance, especially since we all know Hillary doesn't, and none of the Republicans stand a chance in hell. His being partially African American is going to fall by the wayside as people learn more about him.

It's Obama, not osama.
If he gets the Democratic nomination, I will vote for him. Unforunately, I don't think the rest of America is ready.

I will be happy when America is ready for an intelligent president. However, that would take an intelligent electorate or a huge coincidence, so I'm not holding my breath.

We're more ready for a (partially) black president than for a woman president.
