There is no Random Act of Kindness that will make you a better person. Be kind all the time, that is how you be a better person.
A random act of kindness would be to smack the person who started the idea that if you are kind once in a while in some grand way and call it random, it makes up for all the other times you were nasty.

The Buddist believe that every person is a link to a giant chain and that we are all connected. Your job is to make sure that you stay shiney and clean, and it will effect your neighbor. Lead by example. But it goes the other way to. If your link is dirty and you are not positive and you do bad things, then what kind of example do you leave for the ones that come after you?
Just take care of yourself and help others in need, maybe the favor will be returned some day.

you could volunteer at a hospital or nursing home or for a charity.
it won't change the world but you might at least brighten some people's lives.
changing the world is impossible in my opinion, to do that you would have to get everyone to agree to be better people and in my opinion, there are far more selfish, greedy, mean, rude, violent (etc etc etc) people in the world than good, honest, caring people. it's sad, but more and more everyday i believe it's true.

Do we ever alter the world or does the world alter us? To ask for change is only to beg for the uncertain to manifest itself into being all around us.
