Where is the drain for the AC on a 98 jeep grand cherokee. my floor is always damp on the passenger's side.

I've taken the plug off of the bottom of the evaporator and drained it. I think the drain line is clogged but am unable to find the line.

that sounds like your heater core sprung a leak not your evaperator . your heater core is in the dashboard on the right side , when it goes bad the fluid goes into the car on the floor because it's the lowest point of your car !!!

The evaporator drain tube is located on the bottom half of the Heater A/C housing. -- you will most likely need to get under the car in order to unclog it ...a flexible wire/pipe cleaner can be used -- will need to have 12-18 inches of length to work best.

Smell the fluid ... if it is water then evaporator is normally clogged ... if it smells sweet or has a green/redish tint it is most likely coolant and heater core could be leaking

It's at the lowest point of the AC/heater housing. It's probably clogged with slime where the tube come off the housing. If you look under the jeep near the firewall you should be able to see the tube.

sounds as if the heater core has gone out or sprung a leak if the fluid is sweet smelling then it is the core if not go under pasenger side of vehichle and locate the drain open it all the way with a good stiff wire avoid jamming it too far in there or you can puncture something.

man, it's your heater core. you can by pass it for now if your strapped for cash. I had to change a core in a 93 dakota and had to yank the dash just to get to it.That was fun. others ive done took about 20 minutes.
Heater cores start about 15 bucks and go up. BUT BYPASS IT FIRST ANYWAY, IT WILL STINK
