Even though I am a professional seamstress, I have trouble with these specialty feet. I just seem to have more control if I fold it and sew it myself. You might try feeding in a piece of waste fabric onto your real fabric so the foot grabs the waste fabric first, then moves onto the real fabric. It seems to work best if it just keeps moving, but you have to be stopped before you can move! Good luck.
