anything besides history teacher/professor?

i don't really have patience to teach people, of any age, believe me, i've tried it already. Right now, i'm a business major, and an international studies minor, but i reallllly love history.

How about a writer?

My wife loves those books that are set in the past and have historical information mixed in.

Museum curator, archivist, and librarian are some options. These may require advanced degrees though.

Basically, you'd look for any job that values a liberal arts background and the analytical/writing skills you develop. The important thing would be getting internships to help you get work experience and develop contacts. I'd recommend the following book-

A bachelor degree in history does not open many doors if you don't want to teach. You could work for a politician's office. Look at city and county jobs where "any" degree gets your foot in the door. Hey, what is wrong with teaching?

My boyfriend is going to post-grad school next year for history (military history, specifically); he's wondered the same thing. They are going to pay him to tutor, as he's going to school. I suggested that he could write better history books than a lot of the ones he reads, but he said it wasn't very profitable.

You could go into law or any other grad program that doesn't care what your degree is in.

There just isn't much call for history majors in the real world.
