Both The Stooges and The Ramones were credited for creating punk rock. I think they both created it but The Stooges came before The Ramones. I ask these to bands opposed to say The Sex Pistols or The Clash because they revolutionized punk, they did not invent it.

The Ramones, of course. I mean really, whose music really still holds up today. Who did the Sex Pistols and the Clash cite as their first influences? The Stooges have always been, and will also be, also-rans.

doesn't matter that the stooges were first, the ramones did much more for punk. the sex pistols were already up to the same **** the stooges were pulling, the ramones made it cool to be into other **** not necessarily pertaining to drugs, rock and politics

many times the rhythm (quickly, regularly), downstroked guitar (would not truly word for each thing), possibly a brilliant guitar sound, and roots that're extra in rock n roll than the added..theatric? (imagine Queen, definite, stuff like that) parts of Rock. Lyrically, extremely some punk appears about rebellion antagonistic to even with, yet this does no longer carry authentic for each thing. I recommend, the Ramones weren't truly dependent round rebellious lyrics, yet they seem a seminal punk band. Oh, and the vocals regularly are not truly singing, so as that separates it from another song it is also (many times) more straightforward sounding than metallic, swifter/with a more beneficial power element than difficult Rock (in certain circumstances..), regularly would not contain rapping like Rap-Rock.. a lot less production, too, lots of the time. Or a minimum of that's no longer made as glaring. It also has a tendency in route of a repetitive riff and easy chorus. Er..to be straightforward, in certain circumstances that's puzzling to assert. and obviously there are extremely some bands which soundwise may no longer be typical punk, yet which had one of those large effect on the form that they get thrown in there. go back of the Jackyl, it truly is why the qualifier "many times" is there. and how do you clarify non-punk bands which have a similar mind-set?

I love the Stooges for their confrontational approach and for their aggression.Nothing but meat. The Ramones,to me, were a little easier to swallow for most folks.I love Crass too.
