Coke has a ting bit of phosphoric acid in it, but not really enough to clean anything. The aluminum foil is a new one. I don't think I'd want to be rubbing metal all over my chrome.

Go to the store and buy chrome polish. If it's seriously pitted, and SOS pad can do some, but nothing will work miracles if it's really rusty.

Make sure it's not actually an aluminum bumper...chrome hasn't been used on any car I can think of for at least 20 years.

Cleaning chrome with Coke is basically a myth. Any liquid you rub on chrome will make it shine/remove dirt. Coke is not different. I dont think it will do any harm either. I would rinse with water just in case.

No, not really. Also, the aluminum foil will likely leave hairline scratches in the chrome, even though it is softer.

myth-watch the mythbusters. it left the bumper relativly clean, but very sticky from the coke.
