I am the PTO president at a small middle school in NC (student pop. about 800). Our last event for the school year is a dance on May 25. I would like to make it big for the students. I tried for Chris Daughtry, but he's on tour until late June. Any other suggestions about how I can contact people? Does anyone out there have any connections and can help?

The truth is that you probably can't. If you are lucky you'll find someone who knows someone who knows someone... but the odds are pretty slim, and even if you do, there is no guarantee that the person will be able to do it. Famous people, relatively or not, are really busy people. And many of them won't take time out of their busy schedule for free. In fact, they really can't. If one famous person does a middle school for free, then suddenly they are being bombarded by middle schools demanding the same thing. It is a nice gesture for them to do it, but most of them know full well what will happen. All you can do is keep asking around, look up fan information online for whomever you are interested, and write them and hope for the best. It is possible. But don't get your hopes up. Good luck!
p.s. Factor in the short notice, and I think your chances are even slimmer. Next year try kicking this idea off in the autumn. A month in advance is not enough notice.

Perhaps finding a performer who grew up in your area would have better results. You could also check the websites of some performers to see their touring schedules. Performers that do not have a new album out may be easier, as they are not out promoting and not in as high a demand.

perhaps u can find someone... But that party will b free, so i dont know how will u find money to pay that famous performer...
