I prefer third person. A really well-written first person POV is wonderful, but it is hard to pull off, and the result is that many of them simply are not that well thought out. Third person opens up the possibilities. You are not limited to just the thoughts of the main character, and the story can be more complex and interesting. You get to know more of the characters. You get to hold more cards in the plot. The one thing that makes first person better is the joy of learning what will happen at the same time they do, but this can be achieved in third person as well. Almost everything that can be done in first person can be done in third person, but not the other way around.

I think first person is rather limiting in terms of POV, what if you want to show what someone else is thinking? Not that I haven't read good stories in first person but I like third person better.

i don't be attentive to! i'm engaged on a pair of comments precise now yet i won't be able to come to a decision a thank you to do them. First individual is so wonderful on the grounds which you experience the intensity, and as a author you may greater unquestionably describe very own issues including actual reactions and emotions with out sounding creepy. whether, third individual provides greater of a tale like experience and makes it achievable for any reader to narrate to the story being informed. i assume that if the story is sturdy sufficient in spite of the undeniable fact that, it is not appropriate the two way. for occasion, Harry Potter is informed in third individual, yet as a reader, you're able to be able to comprehend what he's feeling by way of his "printed concept technique" and how he reacts. The Twilight sequence on the different hand, is informed in first individual and it removes alot of the "she pronounced, she spoke back," and so on. and so on. and enables you to concentration on not something however the story, fairly than attempting to make certain the perfect character. Soo... i'm not sure! suggestions?

I usually prefer third person, but one of my favorite series (The Holly Winter mystery series by Susan Conant) is in first person.
