If man is a naturally occurring animal, then yes, global warming is--- in part ---due to human endeavor.
Decades of industrial pollution has thinned the protective atmospheric layer which keeps the planet from sickening and eventually losing life as we know it.
Never mind what scientists are going to find. There is enough proof of wasteful activity in all countries to convince ordinary people to burn less fuel and use the wind, the sun and insulation. Eat locally grown foods and buy less things made far away from the local store. The closer to home, the less foreign oil is used.
In the meantime, rather than arguing, better dig a cellar or strengthen the home foundations, shore up the corners and stock up on emergency supplies; no need to wait for one single hurricane to blow the whole house down!

Global Warming is going to be responsible for everything including my inability to find a good job that give me benefits and 6 weeks worth of vacation.
Its coming people!!! Hide under you bed!!!
Edit - O'rielly's ***** you don't get it. One week its a report that says Global Warming will cause more hurricanes. Next week its a report that says there will be less. The fact is at this point no one knows for sure what is causing it, what the effects will be and how long it may last. Until then it makes no sense to come up with knee jerk reactions to try to solve what may or may not be a real problem.

Let me preface my response by saying that I agree with you that the signal has changed, but not the sender. I am of the belief that the Earth is currently undergoing a natural warming trend whether we are here or not. I also feel that we are contributing to it. Whether the consensus is that we are in a warming or cooling trend, the fact is that everything isn't going to change uniformly. The Earth is a self regulating biosphere, and in a struggle to maintain the habitat that has existed, fluctuations in temperatures and climates will occur on a geoligic time scale - not ours. The hysteria isn't caused by the scientific community. However, as in all affairs human, there are those who will seek publicity. Another player is the media what with their desire for ratings over the news that matters. In order for governments to get off their butts to do anything, they have shown that fear is what drives change. There has to be some catastrophic scenario that gets painted during hearings to get the necessary funding for more research to better define the theories about global warming. Its sad but it is reality. My personal interest is in asteroid or cometary impacts. But no one has witnessed one and the argument for a defense system is a difficult one much like global warming is experiencing. And what won't help with the latter is if the Earth goes into an ice age. That's why funding is necessary - to better understand what is going on. Many of your conclusions are agreeable by me, but I am reluctant to point a finger at the true scientists who don't seek publicity on this matter to advance their theory and gain fame. Dogma exists in every branch of human endeavor and its refreshing to see that there are others like yourself who think on their own two feet. As for this subject, all the evidence that I see is pointing toward global warming, but I can't say that the planet will continue to warm up or cool down for it. I do feel that we are witness to the symptoms of a naturally occurring process that would happen if we were here or not. But we can't continue to pollute the very habitat in which we live and expect the Earth to clean up after us and keep the world livable for us.

Let me answer your last question first. Scientists already believe the warming and cooling of the earth is naturally cyclical. Evidence shows however, that human interaction has impacted these natural processes. Even President Bush has finally acknowledged this problem.
As for your first question, both theories could well be correct. As stated in the story scientists believe the rising temperature of waters in the Atlantic have led to increased hurricane activity. As the process of Global Warming continues though, temprerature changes in the air can lead to wind shear increases which can further impact weather. One of these impacts might be to begin to decrease hurricane activity.
You may scoff at those concerned with Global Warming if you wish. My only advice is to scoff as much as you can now while it is still possible for those like you to intentionally ignore this problem. Those days are numbered.

No matter what happens with the weather. The cause will be Global Warming. Coldest April in history....caused by Global Warming. Warmest January in history....caused by Global Warming. Less bees....caused by Global Warming.
Whatever happens, it will be blamed on the fictitious Global Warming.

Global warming will mean more distasters for the world.
Get onto the Net and look up Natural Disasters ... then work out how many in the last ten years ... then go further back and work out how many ten years before etc etc etc .... you will be very surprised at the speed that natural disasters are arriving.

Blasphemy!!! The reason they reversed that statement is because they were wrong last year. Please watch " The Great Global Warming Swindle". Can be found on YouTube.
Global warming is turning into a religion. It is ridiculous to believe that humans have any lasting effect on a billion year old planet. Did the dinosaurs create their Ice Age?

Bullshit.Global warming will produce more and stronger hurricanes because tropical lows need warm water to grow into hurricanes. The warmer the water temperature, the stronger these storms could potentially become.

If I remember anything from my science class, the warmer the water...the more and severe the hurricanes. Thus, I'd say even if there were more or less, they'd still be incredibly destructive...I mean, don't they gain power by warmer water?
Either way, this site might help:
