FACT: The only one on the campus (besides the police, who did nothing) in VA Tech who had a gun was a criminally insane individual.
FACT: The law abiding had no guns.
Do not rely on the police. There job is not to protect and serve. There job is to investigate AFTER the shooting.

Allow everyone who passes gun saftey classes to carry, there will be someone to shoot psychos after only one kill AND it will reduce non-fatal crimes like muggings. What criminal is going to want to mug someone who very well could be carrying a gun to blast them with.

If some wacked job was intent on maximizing the killing of people, like this guy Cho, and had no access to guns, he would have done meticulous planning around a home made bomb. After the boom, probably more people dead, depending when and where the bomb went off. Stooooopid liberals discount human ingenuity and intelligence..............no matter how evil.
Wake up and smell the roses. Gun control DOES NOT WORK.....ban guns and ONLY the cops, military and criminals get to keep them. And that's pretty bad!!!
The rest of us law abiding citizens would have followed the law and gave up our guns. What kind of country would you have when only cops, military and criminals have guns????

how about replacing gun ownership with an increased police presence? If gun owners are really keen on protecting people, they wouldn't mind going through training, evaluations and then volunteering to serve and protect!

I think we could make it harder to get a gun (waiting period), U.S. citizen, etc. but I also think it is time to look at our mental health system. They clearly knew this guy had problems, maybe he should have been expelled when he was "stalking" those women and sent back home.
