I had a spoon go handle down into my garbage disposal and I can't get it out. Can someone "instruct" me how to take it apart to get it out.

Turn off the power to the disposer. Look on the bottom of it and you should see a hole for an allen wrench. If your arms aren't long enough, have someone wiggle the wrench back and forth while someone grabs the spoon with pliers or visegrips. Pull up as the other person wiggles and it MAY come out.

Spoon Stuck In Garbage Disposal

If you insist on doing it yourself make sure you turn the power off to the disposal first, you should have a single breaker for the disposal in your breaker box, and then work on getting the spoon out. I would recommend you call a plumber though cause if the disposal is damaged it would be best to replace it so you don't take any chances with it throwing sparks and cause a fire. Also you can buy a trap for the disposal to cover it when ever your not using it, it just lifts out like a sink plug and it goes in like one. That will help keep utensils from falling down in there and you not know it and turn it on and possibly damage your disposal.

First turn off the power to the disposer. If you absolutely can't get the spoon out from the top opening, ask someone with very small hands to try. There isn't any reason it won't come out.
Don't try to take the disposal apart, you'll just run into more problems than it's worth.

You can't take it apart. I would suggest some strong pliers or robogrips....kiss the spoon good bye, you have to bend it in half to get it out.....been there done that, way too many times!
