Media and the politicians know people are too lazy to form and opinion based on research. People will believe what ever they are told and not what the real truth. The constant bantering of this country and our leaders make this country look bad even though this is the greatest country in the world and the safest

Are you for real? I expect him to be a leader, and being a leader requires that you are capable of admitting when you make mistakes among other things. Bush has failed the task of leading America and has done more damage to the people of this country than any president in my life time of 60 years. History will bear this in time. He has lied to the people on so many occasions it would be hard to find the starting point. I do not base my feelings on what the media says, I have just watched as we all have been deceived buy the Bush administration. I have no faith in his ability and patiently await his end of office. He has played on the minds of all Americans and installed a feeling of fear and total frustration.

What people don't understand is that the President is not the one who really has power in DC -- it's the Congress who has the most power. The President can do very little without the approval of Congress, and it's amazing how quickly the folks in Congress started back-pedaling and throwing mud in Dubya's general direction when public sentiment starting going against the war in Iraq. And yes, media perception is EVERYTHING -- the mainstream liberal media has a very obvious anti-Bush agenda, so they're pulling out anything and everything that can be spun in a negative light and trotting it out to a largely ignorant American public.

What do I expect from a President? I expect someone who can lead. Someone who makes decisions based on principle and not on opinion poll. Someone who will do the right thing, even if it's not the popular thing, and someone who has the integrity to take ownership of the decisions he has made. I'm not saying Dubya is a great President under these criteria, but he's a HECK of a lot better than the former flag-burning, dope-smoking, secretary-screwing, secret-selling, felon-pardoning, philandering son of a ***** that occupied the Oval Office.

we expect him not to lie to us, like he did to take us into war - Iraq had no nukes, nothing in 9/11 etc but Bush lied about it

we expect him not to hire crooks and liars like Gonzales who spent all day lying under oath to Congress yesterday and who says torture is OK even tho its against the law

we expect him not to hire total losers like the clowns who did nothing to help after Katrina so people died because Bush picked some idiots not qualified people

we expect him to do his job and not just give $billions of our money to his friends

Bush broke pretty much every promise he made and broke the law. He's the worst president ever in history of america!

I expect him to admit he screwed up when he sent our troops to Iraq. I expect him to explain WHY our troops had to go over there with substandard equipment. I expect him to attend memorial services for our fallen soldiers. I expect him to explain why we have not found bin laden. I expect him to stop lying about how the war is not making his friends richer. I expect him to be able to give a speech to this nation and be able to speak intelligently. I expect the president to be honest (not possible with bush). I also expect the president to not be arrogant beyond belief!

I expect transparency instead of secrecy, honesty instead of lies, real leadership instead of Conservative talking points. I expect someone who recognizes that there are different points of view on every issue and that he needs to make decisions that reflect the American people's wishes instead of toeing the party line. He is the most polarizing president in history, and after events that have happened during his presidency, the country needs to heal and come together instead of fracture into groups that stop progress.

I'd (naively) expect at least an ATTEMPT at telling the truth. Bush lies, it gets debunked, and he keeps repeating it over and over again until we get sick of dealing with him and give up. That's not a good president, no matter what you want to believe. Anyone can act like a stubborn 2-year old.

I expect, More... than Crafted lies, more than rhetorical platitudes, I expect more than sophomoric behavior, Expect him to uphold the constitution as it was written not as he chooses to interpret it after he's already violated it in deed. I expect honesty, truth, sincerity.I expect decisions based on the common good not the good of a few friends, and loyalists.
I expect openness in government, and accountability. These things are a start...to restore our country to greatness , because we can't get there from here.

I expect him not to lie. I expect him to act in the best interest of the country, not corporations and the wealthy. I expect him to at least listen to opposing ideas. I expect him to fight against terrorism, not attack countries that had nothing to do with terrorism. I expect him to adjust as the situation changes, not "stay the course" no matter what happens. In short, I expect him to be a smarter and better man than he has the capability to be.

I expect him to do what every other president did, lie cheat and steal. I don't like him as a person, not as a president and he is responsible for thousands of innocent lives that were cut short.
