Well arent you allowed to vote more than 1 time on American Idol? And if you are, then it is probably like 100 people voting multiple times rather than the vote representing the number of individuals who voted (1 vote=1 person). Unlike presidential elections where the individual is only allowed to vote once. So I wouldnt infer anything from American Idol votes.

It says that we are a country of convience...you can vote for american idol right at home and never have to lift a finger (except to dial that is) and when it's time to vote for office you have to get up and get out the house to go and place your vote. I think it's sad that we live in a country that is so lazy that they vote a million times more for the next "american idol" than they would for the person who is going to be leading our country.

Guess what? You are totally WRONG. 120 Million people voted in the 2004 Presidential election. Last week's Idol vote was around 35 Million, a little over 1/4 of the number of votes in the Presidential election. When you factor in the large number of people voted multiple times for Idol -- the number of peolple voting for Idol is a small fraction of the number of people who voted for President in 2004.

It means that people have auto-dialing phones and vote many times.

The vote counts on American Idol are VERY incorrect.

Also, as said before, American Idol gives better choices.

I vote that we chose the next president by dialing in votes.

Yeah maybe that'll work. We've failed the last two presidential elections.
