Merle Norman has developed a foundation for mature skin. It minimizes lines and actually gives the face a lifted look, and it smoothes the skin. This particular makeup has optical diffusers which reflects light to minimize the appearance of lines and imperfections. And the best part is, if you try it and don't like it you can return it for 30 days and get your money back. Remember always use a toner, and moisturizer under your makeup, especially if you are dry.

Avoid anything w/ sparkles or glitter. The sparkles tend to settle in your lines, and make them ore apparent. If you feel you look ghostly, then perhaps its would be a good idea to go to the Estee Lauder counter at the mall, and let them try some various products on you, let the consultant there do your makeup. Those girls are professionals, many of them and they are familiar with the products, and you get to see how it will look before you buy it. You can also try buying makeup at certain pharmacies like CVS * i think* which allow you to try the makeup at home, and return it if you dont like it.

The smoother your skin are the easier the makeup will glide. Have you ever thought of any anti aging products? http://cgarcia1.qbeautyzone.com/search/default.aspx?Ntt=time%20defiance
if not then if the foundation seems a little whitish on your skin then you need to ask the workers for the testers. I'm pretty sure there are firming foundation cremes out there like this http://cgarcia1.qbeautyzone.com/products/multiproduct.aspx?itemno=102691&ctg=14956
but if not than get what you'd like and test it on your jawline. you want a color closest to your neck line so it doesn't look like you have makeup on. stick with loose powders instead of foundations. foundations will get into the creases/wrinkles and make your makeup stand out more. You need this http://cgarcia1.qbeautyzone.com/products/product.aspx?itemno=104210

The most important factor in choosing makeup colors is determining your skin tone. You want colors that match your skin tone. Here's how to determine your skin tone:
Warm skin tone:
1. Look at inner wrist - veins will appear green.
2. Gold jewelry is more flattering than silver jewelry.
Cool skin tone:
1. Look at inner wrist - veins will appear blue.
2. Silver jewelry is more flattering.
A few suggestions:
Try a tinted moisturizer instead of a traditional foundation. Tinted moisturizers are easier to match to your skin tone skin they are sheer and blend well.
Sephora has a really good selection & has testers available.
Avoid: cream to powder foundations or thick cream foundations because of their heavier texture they settle into lines.
You may also want to consider mineral makeup; it is finely ground and light. Two links to brands w/ good reviews: http://www.everydayminerals.com/ & http://www.janeiredale.com/

Have you tried Neutragena Healthy Skin Liquid make up and powder? I love it. BUT, the key is to put it on with a brush. Brushes work miracles. I bought my brushes at Michael's.
Good luck!

go to covergirl.com and move your mouse over the tab 'Beauty Quizzes'. Then click on 'Get ColorMatched'
they will ask you what your skin color, hair color, eye color, and what colors you like best are, and then they will match you with the right makeup colors and products
that would be to get the right color foundation, shadow, lip color, etc..
also, try their advanced radiance restorative cream foundation and their advanced radiance age-defying compact foundation
heres a list of their other foundation products:
