Yes because a criminal can not make laws or make decisions that affect thousands of lives. Criminals only affect their victims where politicians affect the whole country and most of what a politician does is criminal!

Politicians ARE criminals,they don't reach high position by being honest &obeying the law.They are far more dangerous than 'ordinary' criminals.

Than common individual criminals, as opposed to organized crime, certainly.
The danger posed by governments, though, is sometimes rivaled by other forms of organized crime, at least at the local level.

Not in a million years. I would rather be locked in a room with a politician than a felon. Do you walk on the other side of the street when a politician walks toward you.

they have to be, in order to get elected
MOST rich folks are criminals too I think
anytime there is a big pile of cash, somebody got ripped off, usually lots of folks
