the best way to neutralize any smell in a fridge is to first put a cup or coffee grounds in the freezer, not the fresh food, thatll do absolutely nothing, then to clean the drain, get some skin so soft, or a oil based nail polish remover, dilute it with water, hot water so if anythings frozen itll melt it, thatll solve the smell, to maintain good smell, use baking soda as mentioned by 400 people before me.

pour some bleach into the drain if possible this should stop the smell. Just a cupfull is all that you should need.
i am sure you have some arm&hammer already in the fridge, but another one is to put a little bit of coffe grains in an old knee high, tie it and throw it in the back...
hope this helps...

Have you got any q tips in the house ? They work as good as pipe cleaners, dip it in vinegar and get it as clean as possible. Another thing you can do to neutralise the fridge apart from what has been mentioned is lime, its as fresh as lemon. Good luck !
ps keep the drained unblocked as much as possible.

Neutralise with a cloth soaked in vinegar and wipe thoroughly, then put a lump of charcoal in the fridge and leave it there, charcoal is a good neutraliser and purifer. If vinegar doesn't work then try leaving a bowl of warm water with lemon juice added. (This also works well in a microwave oven).

Use a pipe cleaner to clean the drain and then cut a lemon in halve and leave in there for as long as possible, works a treat.

Can you pour baking soda into the drain? If not, try setting a couple of open boxes in there.

If it's coming from the drain,it's likely there's a blockage..Clean as far down the hole as possible with a probe perhaps, with power off naturally..Or if you can,a power blower...
