So far I have not told them I am getting out of the Navy. I fear them not accepting me to rent the apartment. My credit is good (719) and I already have a job lined up that pays good. I almost let it slip that I am getting out of the Navy. Should I tell them, or just play it safe so I can get this place? It is decently priced and in a good location unlike many other available places in the area. So I really dont want to chance losing this. But if they were to find out after I sign the lease that I am out of the Navy, what would or could they do? People change jobs all the time, so would it really be a big deal? Any good advice is appreciated.

No, why would it matter? Unless you are getting some sort of discount from the place for being in the Navy. Either way, as long as you get the apt. before you leave the Navy & you pay on time, they will not bother you or care where you work.

I am sorry if you think that your prospective lessors would not rent to you if they know your backgroun of getting out of the Navy. I would think they would be proud to have you as a tenant. In any case, it is always best to tell the truth. Every lie will surface sooner or later. As long as you can show that you have the ability to pay the rent and you are a clean and decent person, I see no reason they would refuse you. Good luck (and wear your uniform....)

I wouldn't say anythign either - like you said, it is a change in job. As long as you follow the rules in the lease and pay your rent, they can not do anything.

i don't think that they need to know, but if for some reason you weren't able to transition into the other job, they would find out if you weren't able to make rent. as long as you have another job lined up, i wouldn't sweat it.
