Yes, he deserves acknowledgment. But don't forget to give credit to the shooter. He did not go out on the street to buy his guns illegally, he did it legally and played by the rules. Who knows he may have thought America was being invaded and was simply taking up arms. After all he wasn't quite right and maybe he was hallucinating.
