Yeah depo does that. I was on it for four years and though I did not have a period, I did spot at odd times.

I would never ever ever recommend the depo shot to anyone though. Too many side affects.

Weight gain, loss of libido, horrible mood swings, are only some of the horrible side affects.

You also need a bone density check as it seriously messes with your bone health.

I decided to get off of it after finding out other people were having the same horrid side affects I was having and then some. Some also had difficulty getting pregnant once off the shot, as well as hair loss, etc. I consulted with my female doctor and she said there are horrible side affects and was glad I was considering another form of birth control.

I am now on Kariva (pill) and life is much better. NO side affects!~

I've had loads of problems. Stopping your period is completely normal and not to mention bliss!
I went on the depo last feb and my periods stopped immediately. Untill dec, when i started bleeding very lightly, which didn't bother me. The thing that bothers me is that i have bled almost every single day since then, just a little. The doc have done numberous tests for anemia and other such illnesses, but everything came back normal.
I still have no idea what is causing me to bleed so much, but it aint showing any sign of stopping. I'd say that not bleeding is the least of the worried youll have on the depo

i was on depo for like 2 years and after your body starts getting use to it, you will stop having periods except like once every 3 months. That is TOTALLY normal! It is becuase they shoot you with meds to last the 3 months per shot (atleast that is how i got it done). As long as you have atleast 4 periods a year you are good!

Warning, I don't know how long you have been on Depo, but the shot caused me to gain ALOT of weight while on it!

its the depo. i imagine they told you about this before taking it, if not, they should have. dont expect them to come back right away if you stop either. they might, or you could be waiting a little over a year. very common side effect of depo. it is well known for this

Yes this can happen. As you know once you are on Depo, your periedsa re missing, sometimes it can take three to six months before you become regular, dont depair. the body responds in its own way.

Yes, it is a problematic side effect. Also weight gain is one, too. Doctors don't usually want to mention the weight gain or there isn't one woman in a million that would agree to signing up for weight gain. Talk to your doctor about the absence of your period. Good luck.

That was the best part about it for me... I didn't have a period for a couple years!!! But do yourself a favor and keep "supplies" on hand, cause you may "spot" once and a while for a day or two. A panyliner is usually enough...
