My father always had the radio on and would not take it off the oldies station (103.3 in Boston). I grew up listening to and still love The Beatles, The Doors, Zeppelin, Skynyrd, Elvis, The Stones, Aerosmith,........well you get the idea.

I am the child of baby boomers, so I had The Beatles playing in my house since I was little. If you are asking which album to start with, I would go chronologically, starting with "Meet the Beatles", but if you just want their best stuff, probably "Sgt. Pepper's" or "Abbey Road" is the way to go. The greatest hits albums are OK, but seeing each album as it's own entity is a better, more interesting perspective, ie "Abbey Road" was their last album, so compare and contrast that with their big breakthoughs like "Sgt. Pepper's" and "Rubber Soul". "The White Album" was made when they were all mad and disenfranchised amongst each other.

my mom was 16 when the beatles first came over in '64 and went through the whole beatlemania firsthand. she had all the records etc. then when i was 15 ,just 11 years ago, the whole beatlemania resurfaced with the release of the anthologies. i got sooo into them. total beatlemania. my mom and i listened to them together and she told me stories about them. she bought me albums for every b-day/christmas until i had them all. and she even gave me alot of her things from long ago. just about a month ago we went together to see 1964 The Tribute, a beatles show, and it was awesome, the guys really did a great job.

when i was younger i used to listen to beatle songs, and really thought that thy sucked, and i would never get into them, but as soon as i turned 18, it seems like my father's spirit got into me( my father passed away when i was about 6) and all his taste in music accompanied it. now i can't get enough of them, it's recently that i found out from talking to my grandparents that the Beatles were his favorite band, and when he lived in Manhattan, he rented a apartment just a few blocks from the Dakota building, and everyday after work he used to walk to the spot where Chapman shot Lennon sit down and just write in his note book....
so i guess my father really had a big impact in my taste of music, and discovering the Beatles.... the song that really got me into them was A Day in the Life, is their first song that i sat there and listened to, it really dug into me, i felt so many emotions run through me when i first listened to this song...

My dad. Sadly, I wasn't around when the Beatles were the Beatles, but my dad raised me on their music. I'm glad I was raised on them and all of the other golden oldies because to me, today's music ISN'T music!

my stepfather was a big fan & had all their records...as a special treat , if i had behaved myself, he would let me listen to the records with the headphones on, which for some reason i especially loved...that`s one of my favorite childhood memories...i could listen for hours...
