Really nice question.
Both words imply maturity in one's personality. Both words are hard to say. Harder than one might think. One may easily say thank you if he is being thankful for a small favor, but if it is a big favor , people find it really hard to say thank you. Instead, they express their gratitude by ingratitude.
For me personally, it is harder to say sorry. Because if you have to say sorry, it means that u have done something wrong. I find it hard to apologize to anyone.
Better people apologize , but I am not a better person.

a lot of people find sorry hard to say, but I don't view it the same. I think neither are hard to say. One should say sorry and apologize if he has done a mistake. One should also thank and show some gratitude toward anyone who has done them a favor or something nice. I don't understand why people see all this hard to say, after all, we are all made of dust and we all belong there at the end of our lives. We should be a little more humble and respecting

i think saying sorry is itself kinds :
1) when u did a really hard mistake and want to say sorry it is very hard to say it or even to feel it
2) when u feel sorry for someone u can say it easly also feel it
saying thnxs is a very great thing that shows that u r confident and a relaxed person
so from these i can say sorry is harder and qieter than thnx
