I owe $1,500 on my credit card and now it was transferred to an attorney and I made an arrangement with them because I just wanted to take care of my debt. I started paying it Jan until Feb. but something came up but they don't want to lower my payment so I don't have any choice but not making any payments and they have my checking acct number and other info. They keep calling me that they will turn this case to Los Angeles county. What shoud i do?

I'm in a similar situation only I owe $8,000 in credit card debt, 4,000 in student loans and my car loan is $14,000. It's tough at times but I work full time and have a part time job. I manage my monthly bills pretty well and am usually able to pay more than the minimum payment.

For you I would pay as much as you can, even just a dollar like the first poster said. Then just try to save up as much as you possibly can each month and soon it will be done and over with. Minimum payments are tough to make at times, but there is always a way to make money to be able to pay them, or at least a little bit of it.

Good luck!

Let them yell and scream. What are they going to do? Take your birthday away?

I would go get 2 or 3 jobs by the end of the day and pay off this stupid debt within 2 months so that I wouldn't have to deal with the creditors anymore.

You need to pay your debts. It is a relativly small amount and in the grand scheme of life a drop in the bucket. You obligated yourself and they lent it in good faith now you need to do your part and pay it back. You do indeed have choices, its just that you are choosing not to. It is time to be an adult and take care of this obligation.

Even if you only pay them $1.00 per month, you are making payments in good faith and they can't do anything. So do not miss a payment.
