Well, they say that it doesn't hurt until transition. But my labor was all weird. I had these awful twinges in my back. That was my first sign. Then, the twinges started getting worse, and I couldn't even walk. Those were not contractions, just back pains.
The uterine contractions themselves were not THAT bad. I would describe them as really bad period cramps. Like, if you had bad period cramps and then turned up the volume to a 10. That's what the feel like. But, the good thing is, they come in waves. So, you can feel them starting, and then they peak, and you do your breathing exercises and count, and then, they fade. Then, you get a minute or two in between, where you can just rest and relax until the next one.
Pushing feels great! You are so tired and so ready for this baby to be born! A good doc or midwife will help you push at the right times so that you don't tear. Pushing is not the worst part at all, but make sure you practice the pushing and learn to push right, and don't push in your face muscles, or else you can break blood vessels in your face (like I did!)

I've heard that for most as you near/begin transition is the most painful. Even in the first stage SOME contractions will be painful enough to stop you in your tracks, but they're supposedly bearable. It varies for everyone.
Most docs dont allow you to have epidurals until you are 4-6 cm dilated, and from what i've heard most women who want them are MORE than ready for them by that point....so I suppsoe that is a good indicator! However for others-- you can be 4cm dilated for a week before labor and not be in pain.
Again, eveyrone is different.

Their position is, and continually has been, to safeguard the reputation quo! They used to pay lip-provider to the running elegance and the Trades Unions while making definite that bourgeois democracy persevered unabated and unchallenged! It would be argued that correct now the Labour Party are being extra sincere than at every other time of their historical past. They scrapped Clause four, which was once an aspiration which they by no means even tried to attain. They did not aid the miners after they struck, have supported each conflict that the British ruling elegance have ever been concerned in, (aside from Suez). Their aid for the imperialist slaughter of WWI stunned and dismayed the left for the period of the arena. In truth, Lenin refused to think it whilst he was once first trained that the Labour Party supported the suggestion of staff killing each and every different on behalf in their bourgeois masters. At least now staff are very conscious that Labour does now not aid them and can promote them out at any and each possibility. It's as much as the running elegance to now throw their aid in the back of revolutionary companies such because the Green Party. Of direction, what we rather want is a brand new staff social gathering that rejects Blairism/Thatcherism, and builds a socialist option to the significant three professional-capitalist events!

For me, the contractions didnt hurt, but pushing did. A friend of mine said the complete opposite. Just be ready for something to hurt! Good luck!
