Unless you really need a portable PC I would recommend getting a desktop. They last longer and are cheaper and you get more compute power for your money.
For example, check if you can get the Slimline PC from HP.

hey..........laptops are meant foe computing on the go.....one cannot expect raw computing power in laptops.....so go for a gaming console like PSP if u want gaming on the go!! better invest those pounds on a desktop PC.
