I am wondering if when your pregnant and crave food like mad, is it the same feeling as when your PMS-ing and crave food? Also, do pregnant women want to eat all the time, or does the feeling come and go?

Pregnancy ones were super specific. Like it had to be captain crunchberry or an arbys roast beef. Where as PMS is more just salty or sweet.

I never crave food while pms-ing and now that I'm pregnant I really crave pickles, grapes, coleslaw, mashed potatoes, and really spicey food... (gotta watch out on the spicey food though) I don't eat all the time either, I actually eat about the same but very small portions at a time, lots more very small meals, but about the same amount of food maybe less.... Does that make sense? Sorry if it doesn't its hard to explain... I lost 15 pounds and have gained 2.4 back... But for a while I was very sick and couldn't keep anything down...

The cravings are more like PMS cravings. You crave something sweet or sour or salty, depending on your tastes. As the baby grows it compresses your stomach so you feel full faster. Also, being pregnant burns more calories so you tend to get hungry again quickly. Typically, pregnant women need 300 more calories a day, hopefully healthy calories.

When I PMS I tend to get moody mor than crave food. With this pregnancy I want high protein high salt and sour foods (ie salt and vinegar chips/I normally can't stand them). I can't eat all the time but I do try to eat 5 small meals a day. It keeps down the indigestion and nausea.

Hope this helps.

I am 14 weeks and have not had a craving yet, I also dont really want to eat a lot. im sure this will all change, however, I do have a new aversion to sweet things I used to like. I hate ice cream now, chocoate, cookies, nothing sweet tastes good to me. When I do want something it is salty, pasta, chicken fingers, cheese. Some say this is a sign of a boy, sweet for a girl.

For me, i never craved anything weird. I have a liking for cereal more than I did before I was pregnant, but no ice cream and pickles. Also, while I am definitly hungry more often then I was before pregnancy, it takes very little to fill me up. My boyfriend is always yelling at me, bc when we go to a restaurant, I order an appetizer, and an entree and NEVER eat all of any of it. Lol, but each pregnancy is different.

Actually I don't eat as much. I usually take lunch @ 12 but I'm been HAVING to eat at 11. Other then that I haven't had too many cravings. I get full faster. But then again I'm only 7 weeks.

i probably could always eat but im not always starving but if i dont eat around every 3 hours or so then when i do get hunger pains it feels like i havent eaten in years its horrible

I don't crave food when pmsing. I didnt' with my daughter either. But with this pregnancy, I get a strong and almost uncontrolable urge to eat a certain thing. Sometimes it leaves, sometimes it doesn't
