concrete thinking I doubt it will ever change and dont believe that education is the answer. I think there is only so much a given brain can actually learn and they are biologically biased to live in an oversimplified reality.

It's called 'tight constructionism.' The idea is to stick closely to the meaning of the constitution, rather than go off and re-interpret it to what you'd /like/ it to say. 'Loose construction' is also a valid way of looking at the constitution: that there should be some room for re-interpretation.
The former aproach gives you better protection of citizens rights from government abuse. The latter aproach allows you to adapt a 200+ year old document to modern times in a more rational way.

Well, likely because they don't see a need to change reality and truth to fit their own views. Conservatives, in matters of Constitutional interpretation, generally understand the Constitution's words to mean what they say, not what the reader wishes them to say. I find it odd that liberals take the Constitution to mean anything they wish when they are constantly asking for solid definitions of certain subjects, complete honesty... You know the drill.
