making milk is what burns calories and baby is much more efficent it making you produce more milk...on the other hand if u pump manually u may actually burn more but thats only cuz the extra labor...

Maybe at first, yes, but eventually, pumping is not as efficient as your baby suckling, so your breastmilk supply will naturally diminish.
