A sock puppet would make me more likely to read your question, because I am a puppeteer.
But whether or not I would answer the question depends entirely on the question.
A great thing about puppets is they are powerful eye-catchers. I think that a puppet would work to make other people stop and listen too. That's the first step to getting an answer, right?
