Also which team or teams were the biggest disappointment this past season? And why? I'm curious to see different points of views and opinions.

the saints no question. comming back from 3-13 to a conference championship appearance was incredible. sean payton definately deserved coach of the year for utalizing those to titan running backs, and making the right decision in takin drew brees (mvp candidate) over daunte culpepper.

also the steelers- they were a big negative surprise. i was definately banking on them having a good season. u wouldn expect the defending champs to jus sit down and get walked on the way they did this past season. the los of the bus and antwaan randall el and cris hope obviously took away a burning passion they once had because they jus held back

It has to be the Saints, hands down, as the biggest upside surprise. New coaches don't usually win in their very first year after taking over a losing team, same thing with new QB's, and the Saints had both. And you had to expect that with things in New Orleans (the city, the area) still being so unsettled, it would be a distraction. *Nobody* picked them to make the playoffs.

Biggest disappointment -- maybe the Eagles. When they got Donte Stallworth just before the season, everyone was writing that Philly had taken care of the one weak position on the team. Part of that was McNabb getting hurt, but Garcia wasn't the reason for most of the losses. More was expected from the Bengals, too, but the Eagles had been a top team, the Bengals were just, supposedly, improving.

I think the Chicago Bears were the biggest surprise this past season. Most people would not have picked them in the playoffs, let alone the Super Bowl. The Saints were quite a surprise also. I would say biggest disappointment was my Miami Dolphins. They signed Daunte in the off-season and were expected to be in the playoffs. They stunk.

New Orleans was the biggest surprise. A team that always loses like them to be a game away from the super bowl, WoW!

Disappointment- THE RAIDERS! I'm a Raider fan and I knew they were going to be bad but GOD DAMN! Randy Moss played like crap!He ran some of the worst routes. I've seen better routes by my paper boy. S h i t!

I'm surprised the Pats all the sudden have a losing streak against the Colts...but then again, I'm a little leary of the refs in the AFC Championship...There were a couple clearly bad calls against the Pats in the AFC Championship...They are arch rivals...Nevermind the AFC East and South...

I'm dumbfounded that my Panthers had such a bad season. We blew at least 3 games that we had well in hand due to poor coaching and play calling. We threw four 4th quarter INTs in the red zone near the close of the season. Aren't you supposed to play-action pass or just run in the redzone? Not this season I guess.

New Orleans Saints. I'm a Saints fan, so I might be biased. But when we signed Drew Brees, I didn't think he could help. Deuce McAllister was coming off an injury, and our defense was stellar. We got Bush during the draft, but I didn't think he'd help except draw attention from the media. But we went to the NFC championship for cryin out loud!

well biggest surprise i must say was the titans and 49ers...
from going from both of them being 4-12 in 05 to 8-8 for the titans and 7-9 for the niners i think was a great accomplishment... as for the disappointment i would have to say it had to be the cardinals and dolphins as many thought (myself also) i thought that james and culpepper would thrive and with a good supporting cast around them they should have succeeded...

The success of the Saints this past year was a huge surprise. The lack of domination of the NFC East teams was surprising as well.
