I've heard two songs from them now with Christian/Inspirational lyrics, but their image and videos are definitely Goth inspired. Anybody have a legitimate answer?

Let's put it this way: They're people, they do stuff, and like most people and stuff, it doesn't fit neatly into any kind of box.

Various members of the group have stated at different times that they were Christian, but never (to my knowledge) has anyone said they were a 'Christian group'. I suppose that's no different from having a small company whose employees are all Christian but not being a 'Christian company'. If you see what I'm saying.

And they do seem to resist being labelled 'Christian' with some vehemence. They have issued press releases asking to have their music removed from Christian music stores (link 1). Amy said that much of the Christian influence on their music left with Ben Moody in 2003 (link 2).

As for being 'Goth', its undeniable that they have a dark aspect to some of their music and their appearance, but they don't seem to particularly embrace that label either. I've heard it said that die-hard Goths do not consider the group to be Goth... so I guess it goes both ways.

I love evanescene music and amy lee. Maybe they do have a goth type look, and her music maybe christian but if you listen to the lyrics and how she sings them then you will no that the type of lyrics that they use is kinda of goth also, their bring me to life song. she fell of a building for crying out loud. maybe that is just there style and if you don't like it you can just not listen to their music!!

You can be both... I am. You should research the term Goth and really know what it means before you judge people. Here's a link.

good question, I have noticed that myself. The oe big thing to remember is that before she left Ben Moody wrote most of the lyrics now she is. Check out his new stuff it is pretty cool.

I have read that they will not comment about those songs. I don't think they are Christian.

Maybe it is possible to be both. Goth doesn't mean devil worshiper.
