Actually, his roommates said that he listened to Led Zeppelin, Nirvana, and other music along those lines.They were also quoted as saying that he repeatedly listened to the song "Shinedown" by Collective Soul(?) and wrote its lyrics on the wall.

No i think it was the Grand Theft Auto game...he put in the cheat codes so he as infinite health then he went around killing everyone in the game....That was so much fun he decided to do it for real....
