my son has a diaper rash that just won't go away. He has had it for about 2 weeks now and I have tried everything, diaper rash cream, vaseline, corn starch, letting him run around naked for about an hour at a time. We change his diaper every 2 hours or sooner if need be. We have been using the same kind of diapers since he has been born so I know it isn't an allergic reaction. Anyne have any ideas that may help?

Could be yeast and would have little red raised bumps if so, otherwise could be from irritation. Have you started new foods recently? Some can cause this I know strawberries always did this to my little one.. for the existing rash though I would recommend calling your Dr and having them call something in, I know we give a rash cream called diaper goop and it is a combo of Nystatin, Zinc and Hydrocrtisone cream maybe they can call something like this in. Also try to cake vaseline on the bottum...to protect the skin this is the key to get it better keep bottum clean and dry as possible an this should help good luck

There is a product line that I found that I absolutely love. It's called Burt's Bees. The products are all 97-98% all natural, so there is no harm in using them, even on the littlest children. The diaper rash ointment was the ONLY thing that got rid of my daughter's diaper rashes when she was younger. I had tried everything else I could possibly think of, then tried that and voila! The rash was gone within 2 days. I found the ointment at a little store in a nearby town, but I am sure if you do a net search for it, you'll be able to find it.

Good luck! It's never fun when you can't figure out how to get rid of a rash!

My daughter was having a problem with diaper rash. It was soo bad that her poor bottom was getting so red her skin was breaking. It hurt me to look at it. I too used to all kinds of daiper rash, even the doctor gave us " this will work medicine". I tried changing the diaper. I was using white cloud diapers. Then changed to the huggies comfort. and she has not had diaper rash at all. She does get a little red here and there. but it is not as bad at all... Good luck.

I had this same problem. Nothing i used helped it go away. The doctor even give me some $24. per tiny tube that wasnt any help. My little boy couldnt wear anything but cheap wal mart diapers and his sister couldnt wear anything but clothe diapers. The old man I was buying my house from told me fry some bananas adding a little baking powder at a time until it makes a thick cream, I put it on him and the next day it was gone.

Try switching diapers. I mean just because you have always used them doesn't mean he hasn't developed some kind of allergy to them. My doctor told me to put a blanket on the floor and put the baby on it with out a diaper for about 10-15 minutes every couple hours. The air helps it.

i thought i had a diaper rash problem like you are explaining, it turned out to be excema. the rash was on my daughter's butt cheeks and making it's way up her lower back. i too tried everything you said and just plain lotion. i would somewhat clear up then come back again. what was strange is that she sleeps on her stomach so you would think the rash would be on her front i finally consulted her pediatrician and she said to apply 1% hydrocortisone cream to the dry patches of skin 2 times a day. this has worked great so far. i would ask your son's ped. about it though before you take my advice.

Could be thrush or a strep rash. Thrush may or may not need a prescription while strep would. Strep is the same virus that causes strep throat, which has been going around my town like crazy the last 3 months. Our little boy got the rash, while the rest of us had strep throat.

Try making a combination of corn starch and Maalox. I tell you now this is the best thing in the world. It will be gone within the day. You make it kinda thin but not runny. Good luck, i really hope this helps.

well let me give you a little home remedy tip OK. my babies had these problems a few times. and my grandmother bought me a ointment called utter balm. now it is used on cow utters and at first i thought she had lost her mind. but i finally broke down and tried it. and low and behold girl it worked. in just a few days my child rash was Gone. it comes square in a green can, you can get it from walmart. or go to your local feed store and they should have it. it works on many aliments. trust the old timers. they have lots of experience. they never had the luxuries we have now. if it dose not clear up take the baby to the doctor dear it could be a yeast infection or something
