My 9 week old had her first round of jabs yesterday, and with it her first taste of Calpol (2mm) on the advice of the HV incase she got a bit feverish. Since last night, or over the last 24hrs, her milk intake has dropped from her usual 35oz ish per day to barely 20oz since same time last night. She wakes up screaming for milk, then drops off after about 2oz for another 2 hours and does the same thing. She has been fairly good up to now, drinking abour 4-5oz at a time, 7 times a days roughly.

Could this behaviour be anything to do with the jabs, or the Calpol, its totally out of character for her.

She's probably just not feeling that great, watch her carefully and after 2- 3 days if she's not back to normal, I'd consult a Dr.

She may just feel a bit under the weather due to the injections, my little one was the same after her imms, when she is well she eats and drinks everything but when she has injections or is feeling unwell her food intake drops and she wants to sleep a bit more.
If your unsure take her to the docs to get her checked out but it is common for babies to feel like this. Also don't forget in the injections the first one has 5-6 different things in it for babies to build an immunity to so it can be quite harsh on there little bodies.

This is definitely a side effect of the immun. shots. My son went through the same thing with his first round. In fact, he's done it consistently through his first 3 rounds and is 6 months old today. For 24-48 hours after each round, he is irritable (I think because the injection site is sore) and is very restless when he tries sleeping. His appetite is nearly cut in half and he doesn't drool as much as normal. It's all part of the process, though, and you shouldn't worry unless the symptoms persist for more than 3 days. This is the same advice my pediatrician gave me when I asked him the very same question 5 months ago. Good luck and congrats on the new addition!

It's probably just her shots. They can make them feel awful. As long as she is having a normal amount of diaper changes then she is probaly ok. They sometimes to give them Pedialite that way they don't get dehydrated. This should only last a couple of days. If you are still worried and it does last longer than two days call the doctor!!

Sometimes when babies get vaccines they end up a little cranky and out of sorts for a couple of days afterwards. Not wanting to feed is common. I wouldn't worry so much today, but if it goes on after tomorrow night, take her to the doctor to make sure something else isn't going on.

this sounds very normal to me. My son didn't take shots very well, he mostly would run a slight to moderate fever, and just acted very sleepy, and lathargic. My dr. always warned me he may get this way, but I would usually just give Ibuprofen to help ease the pain of the injections, and as long as the diapers are staying wet, and her dirty diapers are the same I wouldn't be too concerned.

It is totally normal, they usually lose their appetite after the shots. On the 3rd day they usually go back to normal,if you are changing wet diapers regularly than don;t worry,if anything call your doc.

I'd imagine anyone injected with human toxins would react in such a way.
