When I was 13 to 35 was definitely on the wrong side... was taking values that my peers could not understand but my parents generation thought were exceptional.
Since then, have been definitely on the wrong side yet again... my former values and attitudes have now been accepted by my peers. At the same time I really started questioning and rejecting a lot of those values and attitudes. Neither my peers nor my parents generations understand my views, and my kids generation look at me like a weird curiosity.
But my son and daughter know and respect me, backasswards or not.
Peace

I stand and look over the gap, hearing everything my parents told me to do,in this day and age, hearing everything they told me their parents did and how it was walking to school 17 miles in the snow, living poorly,as my grandfather and everyone on Dad's side of the family were gold miners from the hills of South Dakota, and then I stand and watch my son pick up every 20 dollar bill he can find around the house and tell me its family money, and if its laying around it belongs to anyone in the family who finds it.Doesn't matter who it really belongs to because for him every day is an Easter egg hunt.I respect every person and every story in this generation gap and I'm humbled that I have lived a life that has horrified my parents and possibly my grandparents, that I have never had the privilege of knowing, god rest their souls.
