Can you think of anything unusual or artistic that would work for planting plants in it?

I took the popcorn tins that people give you when they don't know what else to buy, and used them as planters. I had three with animals, two with pretty country scenes and one with kids on a swingset...I get all kinds of compliments on them. My friend used her baby bassinet as a planter-unique! My Mom used some pretty pots and pans that she did not want anymore as planters-they were cream colored with flowers painted on them. My sisiter-in-law used kids different colored plastic sand bucket as planters-the kids love it-they call it their garden. Good luck...

I'm surprised no one mentioned, toilets, bath tubs, old pedestal sinks all make good garden displays.

I use different take out bowls that you get at fast food places..plastic ones are great my kids like to paint & decorate them with stones & the coloured sand use in fish tanks..
