Celebrate baby!!

EVERY child is distinctive and unique AND worthy of their own special celebration. Go all out....really celebrate this surprise of a child. Make momma feel really special and include the WHOLE family in the occassion.

Get shirts for the ENTIRE family saying "TEAM HAILEY" (insert baby's name) to wear at the hospital on D Day. Make sure baby has one, too!! Really make it a team effort.....emphasize the family!!

Surprise pregnancies are great and should DEFINATELY be celebrated!

Absolutely!! What better reason could there possibly be to *celebrate!* I say poo-poo on just having a shower for a first baby. *Every* baby deserves a celebration, and I'd say in this case, there is extra cause for another shower, because of the gap between your friends' kids. Even if she still had all her baby stuff, it would be 12 years old!!

Baby stuff has changed a great deal since her last infant, and I am quite certain that she will appreciate you throwing her a shower. Even diapers are completely different than they were just 5 years ago, much less 12 years!

Check out the website below for an amazing baby shower centerpiece that you can also use to play a game - a diaper cake! This is a stunning and clever way to give diapers, adds atmosphere to your baby shower, makes a great conversation piece, and when the shower is over, mom-to-be can take the cake home as a gift. The diapers and supplies are totally usable. This is my favorite idea for a baby shower!!

If she is a good friend, why not? She probably doesn't have a lot of things left from her last pregnancy, and let's face, we've come a long way in 12 years!

Also, if she's 40 and unexpectedly pregnant, she may be having doubts about her life and there may be tension in her family. A cheerful outing with friends to celebrate this moment in her life might be just what she needs.

Yes - she can use the help. All of the gifts that she receives means that much less money she has to spend to get ready for the baby. And with her youngest being twelve - chances are she has no baby items left. What woman doesn't love a day of pampering and getting all the attention and gifts that come with a baby shower.

Etiquette says no, because baby showers are only given for the first child. However, this rule seems to have been relaxed quite a bit in the last few years. Also, with such a huge gap between children, your friend is unlikely to still have any baby items laying around.

I say if you want to throw her a baby shower, it would be a nice and generous thing to do and she would probably appreciate it.

Absolutely. She probably has nothing left from the other babies at this point. And she is probably freaking out a bit, whether she has said so or not, and a shower given by good friends might be just what she needs. Include any older female children of hers in the shower and prep as well.

Yes, I think every woman deserves a shower no matter how old or how many kids they have. It is a way to celebrate a new life, and truthfully if her youngest is 12 she wont have much around anymore that is needed for a baby.

Yes, for sure. My guess is she no longer has any baby stuff and would benefit greatly. Besides, there are all kinds of new stuff out that was not around when her others were born. Be a friend and throw a party.

She probably has no stuff left from her last pregnancy and would appreciate the help. A baby shower is a celebration, and even if she doesn't "need" anything, have the party anyways!

It would be a very nice gesture. Since I'm sure she has no baby gear seeing as her youngest is 12, she will have to do some major purchasing!!!
