** What is your favorite proverb and why? **

The Bible Proverbs 1: 8 - 9
My son, hear the instruction of your father;
reject not, nor forsake the teaching of your mother.
For they are a garland of grace upon your head
and chains and pendants of gold for your neck.

I like this one because it says in a few words
how truly valuable women and mothers are.

Every cloud has a silver lining. Some may dismiss it as cliched, but thats what keeps you going in life. Being negative doesn't help, does it..Keeping a positive outlook is important.

"The road to Hell is paved with good intentions."

Far too many people think that because they "mean well" that their actions (especially in politics) will result in good.

What matters is not our intentions, but what our actions actually accomplish.

(And "Revenge is a dish best served cold." It means don't respond in anger in the moment, but carefully plan to exact vengeance when it is least expected.)

Revenge is a dish best eaten cold.

I keep this in mind whenever I have a vengeful feeling.
Revenge only hurts the perpetrator.

Do your best, for the best, forget the rest!

Meaning, try your hardest at all times, but don't waste your energy on those people/situations that don't deserve your attention.

The beginning of wisdom is fear of the Lord - always said to me by my mom (referring to herself as the Lord!) Now I use it on my kids.
