hello all! i have an american friend who has a filipina girlfriend...she just met the woman thru chat and he is planning to visit her this september...he asked me a favor if i could help him find out the real status of the woman....what should i do? i live in mindanao and the woman is in luzon...is it ok to call NSO and inquire there? or i will just give the phone number of NSO to my friend and he will do the rest?

thank you blue, bunny, secret and sun for sharing your thought....what my friend would like to find out is the woman's real marital status...she told my friend she is a widow coz her husband died in a car accident but as we all know lots of people can pretend in the net right? so to make sure he would not be wasting time he wanna find out the woman's real marital status...i think NSO can answer all his querry regarding the woman's status....thanks guys! You should just give her the number and let her do the searching.
The only true way to find out about someone is to do a criminal background check. Remind her of that so she can be safe.
The internet can be tricky when it comes to whether a person is really who they say they are. Tell her she needs to be very careful, unfortunately, due to the way things are nowadays. I hope I've been helpful.

Were it my friend who has the need to know about her, I would find one or two numbers to give TO HIM, and let HIM do a check on her. I would not want the responsibility, if indeed, the news were not good, of giving him that news. Rather, its his risk in this matter, help him - but let him assume the responsibility for finding out more about her.
