earlier at work, i was photocopying some stuff and at the opposite side of the room i could see one of my workmates who i get along with quite well. she was with some of her workmates, who i don't really know but have no problem with them. then i heard them mentioning my name so i looked at them and my workmate said "we're not talking about you, don't worry. it's someone else" whenever people say that phrase, i just know that they're talking about me, it's a lesson learned a long time ago. i couldn't hear the rest of the conversation, but they were kicking up a fuss just coz i was wearing my bandage to work since my hand got crushed last night. why is such a big problem to them just coz i wore a bandage? i feel like they shouldn't have said anything since they don't even know me that well, they don't even know my 2nd name, so how can they just judge me like that? i was just real p'd off about that. i've decided it's the final straw so how can i stop her talking to me?

Ignore it. If you are 100% sure they are talking about you, have a word with the ring leader, asking her to stop. If she really is a friend, she will

Good luck

Is your stomach churning up inside? If the answer is yes then you need to get a grip and confront this person.

Perhaps they were concerned for you and thought that your hand was not suitably dressed for such an injury. Or which is more likely to be the case they were curious to find out how you did ut. I mean it's not everyday that a workmate turns up to work with a crushed hand.

Now this is where you can bring some humour into play..tell them that you won a heap of money on fruit machine and as you were collecting your winnings these thugs set about you and tried to steal the money from you. However, because you are no mean machine you defended yourself by taking a swipe at one of gang members who ducked and you hit your hand of the fruit machine. Though the gang members ran off and you saved your money. And so to celebrate your winnings you are going to take them all out for a drink after work.

The moral of the story is if you can't beat them...join them. No point in being unhappy at work over a few words that may or may not been said about you by your workmates.

Time to grow up and make life easier for yourself.

sorry sweetie you cant get people to stop talking about you. It will happen where ever you go. You can just be the bigger person and move on and act like nothing. I know it hurts deep inside but thats why you have to be careful with the people you become friends with. The only way you can stop talking to her is just make your talk little only like hi...bye..smile...just be the bigger person...when she ask you personal questions just get busy no time for that kind of talk.

I had a co working like this and one day a friend I walk up to her(after the boss had left) and said ARE YOU GETTING FIRED! she said no and I said THAT'S NOT WHAT I HEARD. I was told later that she worried about it all weekend long but it did stop her from running her mouth.LMAO

I would ignore the fact that they were talking about you they want a reaction, just go about as normal and don't stop talking to them, it will only make matters worse they will take the p"s more if you do.
Hope you get it sorted out.

Do you often come to work with problems like that, maybe they think you are a hypochondriac, if your not, then maybe you should go up to them and ask them what they are talking about, or be up front and tell them to quit being Bitches.

Everybody will talk about someone else at some point. It's human nature.
I am sure you have talked about someone else being their back, again, at some stage in your life.
Her reaction was a defence mechanism, human nature again.
Don't let it worry you. At least you are someone worth talking about.!
