In the early 1990s there was a range from simple Levi's for around $20-$25 but designer denim pants could go up to $250-$500 for a pair! things were obviously way out of control and there was a backlash against prices like that.

Standard work coveralls (not designer labels) were around $45.00. This was ten years ago. If you meant early 1900's, they were about $10.00.
