considering how many people will watch and vote for American Idol, we should hold the next Presidential campaign in a similar fashion? by showing them off each week, and calling in to vote off the worst?

Nah. At least "American Idol" contestants have a semblance of talent. These days, politicians are only talented at B.S.ing the public, so why vote when you can go to a chatroom? =)
