Ending abortion.

Gun control would help very little because people will always be able to find and buy guns, abortion is a personal choice and if the child isn't expected or wanted then a woman should have the right to choose what she wants to do with her body. The two issues are totally not related I feel ! It's like asking How to stop global warming, with either making it a law in every state that EVERYONE recycles or by reviewing each state's policy on their Death Sentence policies!

neither. Women who have abortions, wouldn't stop having them, if it were outlawed in the US. The only thing that it would accomplish is that those that could afford it, would go to countries where the procedures were conducted legally, and those that couldn't afford it would take measures in their own hands, or revert back to the days, when women were butchered by "back alley" doctors. So, the final result would be that although the number of reported abortions would go down, the amount of children lost would most likely remain constant.

Gun control only works on people willing to obey the law. People who are going to commit crimes against society, will do so, regardless. So, by taking guns away from those that use guns to defend themselves, will only serve to make it easier for those who violate the law anyway. Consider that there are millions of guns sold in the US every year. Guns taken away from criminals, are not destroyed by the police, they are sold to dealers, to gain needed income for the police departments, which in itself perpetuates the sale of guns. If you were to stop the sale of legal gun purchases in the US, there would still be Billions of guns available for those willing to either buy them or steal them. Making it harder for persons to get weapons would only delay the process, it wouldn't eliminate it.
Think of the places, where Everyone has guns. Criminals are Less likely to commit a crime in those areas, since the possibility of being caught and/or shot are much greater, than in an area, where the average person does not have access to a gun.

I'm not a woman so I really have no right to decide if abortion should be legal or not. However a fetus under 12 weeks is not considered a child, therefore abortion does not kill children. Gun control will take guns out of law abiding citizens only, the criminal will still have guns. Also to everyone that is going to give me a thumbs down for my abortion statement.....how many babies of drug addicts and homeless mothers have you adopted (if your not part of the solution, your part of the problem). Get out of the picket line and pay to support the mother during pregnancy, and finance the child's life.

Neither.
Abortion - they aren't "children" yet and there's a lot of cases where it's necessary.
Gun control - has NEVER prevented any crime, let alone save a kids life. Actually, gun control has killed more than it has supposedly saved. Lets use current events, what if responsible people were allowed to carry a concealed weapon? How far would that kid have gotten if the guy behind him was armed and able to stop him? He only killed that many because he knew nobody else had a firearm.

Well, an end to abortion would save 100% of the children killed by abortion.

However, getting rid of ALL guns (even from criminals, but how can we do that?) will only make them resort to knives, or bombs. It may decrease killings significantly, but not 100% of them.

Attentive parents. I know that nobody wants to hear they might be a bad parent, but some of us are. Most young kids who die in accidents, die because nobody was looking. Kids aren't intuitively aware of things that are dangerous, and need adult eyes to keep them safe. Ultimately that responsibility comes down to the parents. Not the school, not a daycare or a neighbor.

Ending abortion and removing weapons might make more children; I just don't know if more kids will help anything, if nobody's watching the ones we have.

What about funding health care inititives for children? How about working toward an economy where one of the parents can be home to supervise the children rather than both parents needing to work? How about developing a community atmosphere in this country instead of an atmosphere of fear and selfishness?

These things will help to save lives and better serve our children. Talking about changing the constitution only provides political talking points and polarizes the nation rather than bringing it together.

If we want things to change, we need to work together. ALL of us need to work together.

Neither one. More educated parents would be the greatest benefit to save children's lives. The thought of what you do as a parent, Actually putting your child's needs and protection from harm your first priority, not yourself, would make this a safer place for everybody.

Impossible to answer. Some abortions are necessary, others are not. Likewise, it is unproven how much gun-related crime would decrease with more gun control; it could reduce it a lot, it could accomplish nothing.
