I know I know... Sounds pretty contradictory...

One of my best friends is in the hospital with a brain tumor and I just got a call from my other best friend yesterday that he's not going to make it.

He had this cancer when he was 7 and it's come back 14 years later (he's 21 now). Something went wrong in the biopsy and long story short, he's now conscious, but extremely weak and on a respirator. Combined with the damage the radiation therapy did on his body back when he was 7, and how agressive this type of cancer is, the doctors have determined that his body just won't survive treatment. He doesn't have much time.

Anyway, I've been asked to sing at his funeral and could use some suggestions for good songs.

I'm a high-mezzo soprano who can also belt. Something I can find on karaoke would be great, but piano music is alright too.

Religious lyrics are optional. I just want a song as unique as he is.

So far, I have the song "Into the West".

I am so sorry about your friend, it's so sad to go through something as painful as this.... I suggest Delta Goodrem songs, her songs have nice beats and they talk about being strong. They are original. I suggest :you are my rock and innocent eyes... I wish you all the best.
